Alien Abductions Involving the Deaf

By Deborah S. Kauflin, Ph.D.

The term alien abduction either scares people or makes them laugh. It seems there is little reaction in between. However, as more and more paranormal shows make headway into popular culture, the notion of aliens visiting our planet has become more accepted.

Lots of people are interested in extraterrestrials. Who wouldn’t be? Intelligent life is something we all seek. It certainly is not out of the realm of possibility to believe that aliens exist somewhere.

There are many people who believe that aliens are already here and have been for a very long time. I’ve spoken to a large number of people who believe that they have experienced E.T. contact. After doing that, I decided to look a specific groups of people who have been through this. As a criminal profiler, I profiled serial killers for 20 years. After retiring, I’ve been working in the paranormal field looking for answers to the biggest questions out there.

So I went looking for people who had specific traits to see if the alien abduction experience is different for certain groups of people. In this paper, I am writing about alien abductions involving the deaf. Since they cannot hear, it was interesting to get a feel for their perceptions of their experiences.

Though most routine E.T. contact begins with either a high pitched noise or a clicking sound, the deaf could not hear such noises. Instead, they felt a buzzing or electrical type charge on their bodies. Many talked about seeing a light right before or at the same time they felt this vibrating or buzzing sensation. The light was described as being either white or bluish. And almost every person who experienced this said that when the light appeared, they got goosebumps.

One of the abductees was not fully deaf and used a hearing aid. He said that after sitting on his couch, feeling the vibrations in his stomach, he then found himself on very large table in a big room. He could not remember how he got there. There were 3 small grey colored creatures with large heads standing over him. The entities had taken his hearing aid out and seemed fascinated with it. The abductee stated that they almost seemed to fight over which one got to hold the hearing aid. These three beings were smaller entities who immediately acted subservient to a larger entity which came into the room after a few minutes. The larger being was very tall and had what the abductee described as a bug type head. It scared him so much that he passed out. When he woke up, it was the next morning, and he was on his couch. His hearing aid was not working right. It produced a lot of static which it had never done before.

Likewise, other abductees recalled being on a table, while others talked about walking through a dark hallway. The consistent factor was the entities. The descriptions tend to point to the grey aliens. A few talked about human looking beings who were extraordinarily beautiful or handsome. The role of the ones who resembled humans was to comfort the abductees. Though this was the purpose, it did not work well. The abductees said there was something ‘off’ or ‘different’ about these humanoids. Something was not quite right. Whatever happened, the entities were ALWAYS present. The abductees were never alone. They felt watched constantly.

It is interesting to point out that though this set of abductees are deaf, they could understand the entities speaking in their minds. It was a telepathy, and the people knew exactly what was being communicated. One entity asked why one female abductee could not hear like other humans and wanted to know why human doctors would not fix this problem. The only thing this woman could manage to think of was her family. She was so frightened that she could not provide any answers to these ‘monsters’ in front of her. Over and over, she pictured her family and prayed. She felt pain on her leg, but she did not see if an entity touched her or if some kind of instrument touched her. Because she was so scared, she tried not to look at them. Still, she would peek at them every now and then. She said that the beings appeared frustrated with her because she was almost paralyzed with fear and tried not to look at them. I asked how she knew they were frustrated, and she said that she felt their anger. In her own words: “you know when someone’s mad at you, like when you’re talking to someone who is mad.” In her description, she relayed how there was a feeling of contempt coming from the beings. In short, she said she felt hated by these creatures.

Several other abductees spoke of an alien putting its long finger in their ears. Not enough to hurt them, but enough to scare them. And scare them it did.

One of the grey looking entities told an abductee that they (aliens) have trouble understanding humans. To them, humans are unpredictable and have too much diversity which is not true of their kind (at least the ones involved in this case). In fact, from the descriptions, these beings appear very uniform in appearance, thought, and behavior. The Borg from Star Trek comes to mind since it appears as if when one alien learns something, they all learn it (like through some connected telepathy).

After the abduction experiences, all felt an impact to their lives. The majority suffered problems. Friends and family did not believe them, and many developed illnesses right afterward. A very small group looked at the experiences as transformative, and they changed their lives for the better. They became very spiritual and felt a peace they had never known. So the abductees do not have the same after effects. One wonders why some seem to get hurt while others almost seem blessed by the experience.

To those who have not read a lot about this, these stories may seem far-fetched. Scientists may say that neurological disorders can produce thought problems and hallucinations, and such a medical issue could explain the bizarre accounts. Yet, there have been people who have claimed to have been abducted who have gone through a battery of medical tests which have found nothing out of the ordinary except a suspicion of radiation exposure in one case.

Other skeptics will say these people are either mentally ill or lying. While it is certainly true that there is a large number of people who are not quite right in the head, I have reviewed these cases and most are professional working people who are educated and have no monetary or seemingly other reason to come forward with these accounts. They are not seeking money or fame. They simply want answers as to what happened to them.

SOMETHING is going on. Whether one chooses to believe that the events are real or fake, the experiences do happen to the people who go through them. We need more research to find out what really is occurring. Because if aliens truly are here, we’ve got a lot more to worry about than bickering between skeptics versus believers.
